Israeli airstrikes hit sites near Damascus – State media
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Israeli airstrikes targeted early on Saturday several sites on the outskirts of the Syrian capital Damascus, a Syrian news agency reported.
The state-run SANA news agency said citing an unnamed military source from the Syrian government forces, that at approximately 01:05 am on Saturday, “the Israeli enemy carried out an aerial aggression from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting some posts in the vicinity of Damascus.”
Explosion sounds were heard near the al-Dimass area in the west of Damascus, the local SHAM FM Radio reported.
SANA added that the Syrian air defenses managed to down some of the missiles, while others caused material damage.
Meanwhile, Syrian Ministry of Defense said on Friday they shot down two drones in the west of Damascus.
SANA reported citing a military source as saying that the drones entered the Syrian airspace from the direction of Golan Heights, southwestern Syria.
