Turkish authorities transfer 10 Syrians from Syria’s Sere Kaniye to Turkey
SERE KANIYE, Syria (North Press) –Turkish authorities, in collaboration with the Military Police of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA), transferred on Sunday 10 Syrian detainees including a girl, from a prison in the city of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), northeastern Syria, to a prison in Turkey.
An official in the Military Police told North Press that the 10 detainees were arrested since the beginning of October 2023 during a series of arrests carried out by the military police and the security apparatus affiliated with the Turkish-backed SNA in the city of Sere Kaniye, the town of Mabrouka, and the village of Tel Halaf, west of the city.
The source further explained that the 10 detainees were transferred through the Sere Kaniye border crossing to a prison in Urfa, southeastern Turkey.
The source added that the detainees are Tamer Hindzali, 28, Dalal Abara, 26, Omar Naasan, 20, Muhanna Abdulnabi, 31, and Yasser Juqa, 19. The identities of the other five detainees are unknown.
The detainees were interrogated by the military police and charged with “threatening Turkish national security”, although they are not from the Sere Kaniye area and entered it to cross into Turkey to seek refuge in Europe, the source noted.
