DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – U.S. President Joe Biden stated on Sunday that the attack that killed three American troops in Jordan was carried out by Iran-backed groups operating in Syria and Iraq.
“We will carry on their commitment to fight terrorism. And have no doubt – we will hold all those responsible to account at a time and in a manner of our choosing,” Biden said in his statement released by the White House.
Just hours ago, the Pentagon’s Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that three American soldiers have been killed and 25 others have been injured in a drone attack on a U.S. base in northeastern Jordan near the Syrian border.
Jordanian Minister of Government Communications Muhannad Mubaidin told the state-run al-Mamlaka TV that the attack did not occur on Jordanian soil but rather targeted the U.S. base of al-Tanf in south Syria near the shared border with Iraq and Jordan.
