ISIS claims attack against SDF in Raqqa

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – The Islamic State group (ISIS) claimed on Saturday evening an attack against a checkpoint of the Syria Democratic Forces (SDF) in the city of Raqqa, northern Syria.

The ISIS-run Amaq news agency published a statement saying that the group’s militants launched an attack against a checkpoint of the SDF in the village of Mazra’at al-Rashid in the west of the city of Raqqa. The militants used machine gunsm according to the statement.   

The statement added that the attack resulted in the killing and injury of three SDF fighters. However, the SDF has yet to comment on the incident.

On Saturday morning, ISIS claimed the assassination of a teacher under the pretext of espionage for the SDF in the village of Hawaij in the east of Deir ez-Zor.
