Global Coalition repositions forces in Syria’s Hasakah following attacks
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – The U.S.-led Global Coalition to defeat ISIS moved on Saturday a number of troops from one of its bases to another in the countryside of Hasakah, northeastern Syria, as a precautionary measure following attacks by Iranian-backed militias.
A source in the Coalition told North Press, some of the Coalition’s forces are being repositioned following attacks by Iranian-backed militias.
The source pointed out that this move will enable their forces to stand against the increasing attacks against them.
The U.S. stated they have no intention of withdrawing troops from Syria. Meanwhile, an American official said the withdrawal of their forces from Iraq will take years.
Earlier, the Coalition had repositioned forces from a base in the countryside of Qamishli to Hasakah as part of precautionary measures, according to the source.
