Israeli airstrike kills IRGC official in Damascus – Reuters

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – An Israeli airstrike killed on Saturday a member of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and wounded others in the Syrian capital Damascus, Reuters reported.

A security source in the regional pro-Syria alliance told Reuters that a multi-story building used by Iranian advisers, who support the Syrian government, was leveled by precision-guided Israeli missiles.

Syria’s state-run news agency SANA reported that an attack, likely by Israel, targeted a building in the Mazzeh neighborhood in Damascus. 

Meanwhile, Essam Al-Amin, head of the Al-Mowasat Hospital in Damascus, told a local media outlet that after the attack, the hospital received one dead individual and three wounded, including a woman.

On Dec. 25, 2023, Razi Mousavi, a prominent leader in IRGC was killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted the town of Sayyida Zainab, south of Damascus.
