Turkish strikes target Sweidiya gas plant in Syria’s Derik
DERIK, Syria (North Press) – Turkish drone strikes pounded on Monday night the Sweidiya gas plant in the countryside of the city of Derik (al-Malikiyah), far-northeastern Syria.
On Sunday night, Turkish drone strikes targeted the same facility, resulting in extensive damage, rendering it out of service.
North Press correspondent in the area reported, “The Sweidiya gas plant in the countryside of Derik was subjected to Turkish bombardment this evening, and flames are still rising from it.”
Turkey continues its bombardment along the border strip from Derik in the northeast to Manbij in the west, destroying infrastructure facilities and properties of civilians, and causing civilian and military casualties.
The correspondent added that the facility was targeted with at least seven strikes within one minute.
