Iranian militias target Coalition base in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Iranian-backed militias targeted on Sunday the U.S.-led Global Coalition’s base in the Conoco gas field in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor Governorate, eastern Syria, prompting the Coalition forces to fire back.
A military source from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the U.S. military allies in Syria, inside the gas field stated that Iranian militias targeted the Coalition base in the field with a barrage of rockets, which was countered by air defenses at the Coalition’s base in the al-Omar oil field.
The source added to North Press that the Global Coalition directly responded to the areas from which the rockets were launched, from the town of Khsham in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, which are under the control of Syrian government forces and Iranian-backed militias.
The source stated that four rockets launched by the Iranian militias struck residential homes in the SDF-held town of al-Ozba in Deir ez-Zor, resulting in material losses.
