AANES urges international action to stop Turkish attacks

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) called for human rights, international, and humanitarian organizations to recognize the danger of the Turkish attacks in northern and northeastern Syria and their repercussions on the local population, the security situation, and the efforts to combat terrorism in the region.

Turkey continues to bombard towns and cities aligning the border, starting from the city of Derik (al-Malikiyah) in far-northeastern Syria to the city of Manbij in central northern Syria, severely damaging infrastructure facilities and properties of residents, and resulting in civilian and military casualties.

The AANES said in a statement that Turkey continues to attack the region with fabricated justifications, seeking to end its “democratic project.”

The AANES added that Turkey seeks to fuel conflicts and take advantage of regional and international developments to fulfill its interests and implement its exterminatory approach, especially against people in northern and northeastern Syria who are fighting against terrorism.

The AANES called on the local population to stand against Turkish policies to prevent Turkey and its proxies from succeeding in implementing these policies and objectives.
