Turkish drone attacks government outpost in Syria’s Kobani

KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – A Turkish drone targeted on Saturday a military post of the Syrian government forces in the countryside of the city of Kobani, northern Syria.

A local source told North Press that the drone targeted the military post of the government forces in the village of Kharabisan Fouqani , 25 km east of Kobani, with three strikes.

Syrian government forces entered the Manbij and Kobani regions, in northern Syria, in October 2019 after a ceasefire agreement brokered by Russia and the U.S., following a Turkish invasion of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) and Tel Abyad in northern Syria.

On Jan. 11, a Turkish drone targeted a post of the government forces near the village of al-Dandaniyah, in the northwestern countryside of Manbij.

The source noted that there is no information regarding casualties among the government forces, but the attack did cause material damage.
