Turkish drone attacks government post in Syria’s Manbij

MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – A Turkish drone attacked on Thursday a military post of the Syrian government forces in Manbij region, northern Syria.

The Media Center of Manbij Military Council, affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), said a Turkish drone targeted a post of the government forces near the village of al-Dandaniyah in the northwest of the city of Manbij.

The attack resulted in damage to the military post, while no casualties were reported.

On Jan. 8,  the Turkish drones attacked the village of Qart Weran in the west of Manbij, causing material damage to residents’ properties.

The Turkish forces and their affiliated armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), frequently target areas and cities in northern Syria, resulting in casualties and material losses.

Since October 2019, the government forces have entered Manbij following a ceasefire agreement between the SDF and Turkey sponsored by the U.S. and Russia. The agreement came after the Turkish invasion of northern Syria and its occupation of the two cities of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) and Tel Abyad.
