ISIS claims 5 attacks in Syria

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Islamic State (ISIS) claimed responsibility for five attacks in Syria on Tuesday, targeting the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Syrian government forces, and a patrol of Russian forces.

ISIS-linked Amaq news agency released a statement stating that ISIS militants ambushed a military vehicle belonging to government forces and targeted it with machine guns west of the town of al-Sukhnah in eastern Homs, resulting in the killing of five soldiers and the burning of their vehicle.

The statement added that ISIS militants also shot dead a soldier of the government forces near the town of al-Mayadin in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

Furthermore, ISIS militants shot and killed a fighter of the SDF on his motorcycle near the Hawl Camp in the east of the city of Hasakah, northeastern Syria.

In another statement, ISIS said that its militants targeted a military vehicle of the SDF with machine guns on the main road in the town of al-Suwar in the northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, resulting in the killing of an SDF fighter and the injury of another.

In addition, the statement claimed that ISIS militants targeted a patrol of Russian forces between the villages of Salhabiyah and Twaihina, west of the city of Raqqa, with an explosive device, damaging an armored vehicle belonging to the patrol.
