14 Syrian soldiers killed, 20 injured in Syria’s Palmyra in ISIS attack

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – Over 30 soldiers of Syrian government forces were killed and injured on Tuesday in an attack carried out by the Islamic State (ISIS) in the desert of Palmyra, central Syria.

A military source told North Press that cells of ISIS carried out an attack on a military bus affiliated with the 17th Division of the government forces in the Third Station area in the Palmyra desert.

He added that the attack resulted in the killing of 14 members and the injury of more than 20 others, including officers.

He noted that the injured were transported to a hospital in the city of Palmyra amid heightened state of alert by government forces in the area.
