Turkish shelling on Syria’s Ain Issa injures child girl
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – A child girl was injured on Wednesday evening due to Turkish shelling on the northern countryside of Raqqa in north Syria.
Turkish forces and their affiliated armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), shelled the town of Ain Issa, north of Raqqa, using medium weapons.
A local source said the shelling resulted in the injury of Kheloud al-Mustafa, 16, in her leg while trying, along with her family, to escape the targeting area.
The source added that she was hospitalized, and a source from the hospital said she was injured with a shrapnel that cut three hamstrings.
Due to the seriousness of the injury, the girl was hospitalized to the city of Raqqa.
Early in October, the Turkish and SNA shelling of Ain Issa led to the killing of two children. The shelling that targeted the village of al-Mastura, northwest of Ain Issa, killed Nadia al-Ayyash, 8, and Ali al-Ayyash, 6.
