Turkish forces transfer 10 Syrian detainees to prison in Turkey
TEL ABYAD, Syria (North Press) – Turkish authorities, in collaboration with affiliated armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), transferred on Wednesday 10 Syrian detainees, including three girls, from the Anti-Terrorism Prison in the town of Tel Abyad, northern Syria, to the Turkish city of Şanlıurfa.
A source in the Military Police affiliated with Turkey said that the detainees were arrested on Aug. 14 while attempting to cross into Turkish territory from the village of Munbatih in the north of Tel Abyad.
The source added that the detainees were investigated by the Military Police, which revealed they came from areas of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) with the intention of immigrating to Europe.
The Turkish authorities then changed the arrest reports and added other charges, including “threatening Turkey’s national security and planning retaliatory attacks.”
Based on the investigation report, the detainees were transferred through the Tel Abyad border crossing to a prison in Şanlıurfa, according to the source.
This is the sixth time in December where detainees are transferred from SNA prisons to Turkey through cities like Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), Afrin, and Tel Abyad.
