Iranian kamikaze drone hits Golan Heights
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – An Iranian kamikaze drone targeted late on Wednesday an area in the Golan Heights. The so-called Islamic Resistance in Iraq, an Iranian-backed group, claimed responsibility for the attack.
The Jerusalem Post reported that the Iranian-backed militia claimed launching a drone toward a site near the town of Eliad in the Golan Heights.
This is the first kamikaze drone that targets the area since the start of the Israel-Hamas war on Oct.7.
The drone attack caused material damages to a nearby building without resulting in casualties.
On Nov. 11, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said that two rockets were fired from southern Syria towards the Golan Heights, setting off sirens in the communities of Avnei Eitan, and Nov.
The IDF responded with artillery shelling towards the areas from which the rockets were originated in southern Syria.
