AANES calls on NGOs to take stance regarding Turkish aggression

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) called on human rights and humanitarian organizations to condemn Turkish attacks that targeted 14 sites in northern and northeastern Syria.

The Turkish strikes hit various sites, including an industrial facility in Allaya neighborhood including an industrial facility in the Allaya neighborhood, which is home to a prison housing Islamic State (ISIS) militants, in the city of Qamishli, northeastern Syria. They also targeted grain silos in the village of Segerka, east of Qamishli, as well as a sewing factory, the Simav print shop, and a cement factory within the city.

The bombardment resulted in the injury of at least 10 people in both Qamishli and the city of Kobani, northern Syria, in an initial toll recorded by the Monitoring and Documentation Department of North Press.

During a press conference held today in the city of Raqqa, the AANES emphasized the importance of human rights and humanitarian organizations taking a clear stance regarding the Turkish aggression.

The AANES voiced concern for the lives of millions of inhabitants in the region, especially given the challenging living conditions and the significant risk of a resurgence of terrorism.

It also called Russia for taking a clear stance on the Turkish escalation which endanger all Syrian regions.

The AANES urged the Syrian government to adopt a clear position regarding the Turkish aggression, emphasizing that targeting northern Syria is tantamount to targeting all Syria. It emphasized that these attacks violate Syria’s sovereignty.

On Saturday, Turkish warplanes bombed infrastructure and oil facilities in the countryside of Qamishli and near the city of Derik in far-northeastern Syria.

AANES stressed in its statement the necessity for the U.S.-led Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS to take a serious stance regarding the Turkish escalation.
