3 individuals killed due to security chaos in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Unknown gunmen carried out on Friday two attacks against civilians in Deir ez-Zor Governorate, eastern Syria, causing casualties.

A local source from the village of al-Merei’iyah, east of Deir ez-Zor, told North Press that unknown people, riding a motorcycle, opened fire on Ali al-Sab’, 28, and Radi al-Kheder, 26, on the vicinity of the village, killing both of them.

Al-Sab’ and al-Kheder are civilians and did not work for any military party, according to the source.

Deir ez-Zor is witnessing security chaos due to Iranian activities on the western bank of Euphrates and Islamic State (ISIS) activity, as well as tribal conflicts and consistent clashes.

In the countryside of the town of Abu Kamal, east of Deir ez-Zor, a soldier of the Syrian government forces, Abes al-Shar’, was killed in a stray bullet of tribal fighting in the village of al-Heri, in Abu Kamal countryside.

In a discrete incident, a local source from the village of Sabha, east of Deir ez-Zor, said that unknown gunmen, riding a motorcycle, targeted Omar Melishan, an employee at the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), near the main route of the village.

However, Melishan managed to flee after sustaining slight injuries.
