1 killed, 18 arrested by Turkish border guards in Syria’s Afrin
AFRIN, Syria (North Press) – One person was killed and 18 were arrested on Thursday by Turkish border guards while crossing the Turkish-Syrian border in the countryside of Afrin, northwestern Syria.
A local source stated that 23-year-old Muhammad Mahdi Ali was killed and 18-year-old Hamadine Kurnazi was critically injured, after Turkish border guards opened fire on them while attempting to cross the Turkish-Syrian border from the village of Ferferke. Kurnazi was injured in his back and was taken to Rajo Hospital.
Turkish border guards also arrested and assaulted 18 others, including five women, and then handed them to the Turkish-backed Military Police.
