Government forces conduct search operation in Syria’s Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, Syrian government forces raided several farms and Bedouin tents in the vicinity of the city of Jassem in northern Daraa, southern Syria, as part of a search campaign for wanted individuals.

Residents in the area informed North Press that groups affiliated with the government forces conducted raids on some farms in search of what they referred to as “strangers,” in reference to wanted people.

They further added that the raids targeted Bedouin tents belonging to those working in farmlands, and that a young man named Khaled al-Halqi was arrested while grazing his sheep in a land west of Jassem. He was later released after several hours.

Government forces completely encircled the city of Jassem and prevented some patients who had medical appointments at hospitals from leaving the city.

The raid and search campaign was accompanied by surveillance aircraft flying over the area, and additional military reinforcements were deployed south of the city.
