Large-scale protest kicks off in Syria’s Suwayda
SUWAYDA, Syria (North Press) – The city of Suwayda witnessed a large-scale demonstration on Monday, featuring chants and slogans expressing opposition to the Syrian government.
This is the first demonstration of its kind since the start of the anti-government protests in Suwayda on August 17. The protesters carried banners calling for the implementation of UN Resolution 2254.
The protesters marched from al-Fursan Square to the city’s Automatic Bakery, then proceeded to al-Atarsh Square near the al-Mashnaqa Roundabout, and finally continued along the main road towards al-Karama Square.
A significant number of people from the city and its northern countryside had called for this demonstration.
