2 Syrian soldiers injured in Israeli airstrikes on Damascus
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Two Syrian soldiers were injured on Sunday in Israeli airstrikes near the Syrian capital, Damascus, a media outlet reported.
Syria’s state-run news agency SANA reported citing a military source as saying “At approximately 10:05 pm, the Israeli enemy carried out an aerial aggression from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting some sites in Rif Dimashq.”
On Sunday evening, Israeli missiles targeted sites in the vicinity of Damascus.
SANA added that the strikes led to the injury of two soldiers and caused material damages.
The Syrian anti-aircraft defenses intercepted multiple Israeli missiles, according to the military source.
Since the start of the Israel-Hamas war on Oct. 7, Israel has targeted several sites in Syria multiple times. Israel claims these strikes target weapons warehouses linked to Iranian-backed militias.
On Dec. 10, Israeli airstrikes targeted several sites on the outskirts of Damascus, resulting in material damages.
