SDF thwarts 2 infiltrations by militants in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) thwarted on Sunday at night two infiltration operations that were conducted by militants affiliated with the Syrian government forces to SDF-held areas in Deir ez-Zor countryside, eastern Syria.

A military source in Deir ez-Zor said that Hajin Military Council, affiliated with the SDF, had thwarted two infiltration operations of government-affiliated militants in the town of Hawaij in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

Clashes broke out between the council’s fighters and the militants, killing three militants and injuring others. As a result, the rest of the militants fled towards government-held areas, west of the Euphrates River, according to the source.

Additionally, the SDF thwarted another similar operation by government-held areas in the village of Meheimideh in the northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, according to the source.
