2 people killed in landmine explosions in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Two individuals were killed on Friday in landmine explosions in two towns in Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria, according to local sources.

The sources told North Press that Majed al-Fares, 15, was killed in a landmine explosion in the village of al-Merei’iyah, located near Deir ez-Zor military airport.

In addition, Abdulhakim al-Hamashi, 32, was killed in another landmine explosion in the city of al-Jalaa, east of Deir ez-Zor.

Deir ez-Zor witnesses separate attacks by unknown armed groups and Islamic State (ISIS). Most of the attacks target civilians, employees, and fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
