Government forces bring military reinforcements to central Syria
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian government forces brought on Friday huge military reinforcements, including heavy weapons, to the Syrian Desert, central Syria, for unknown reasons.
A military source of the government forces told North Press that they brought more than 400 soldiers from Division 11, affiliated with the government forces, to the village of al-Kawm, in the eastern countryside of Homs, central Syria.
The reinforcements included heavy artilleries and rocket launchers. The forces also installed more than ten posts in the area.
More reinforcements will be brought in the coming two days, according to the source.
Russian warplanes had hovered for more than two days over the area and targeted hideouts the Islamic State (ISIS) used to hid in, the sources said.
On Dec. 8, unknown people carried out an armed attack on a vehicle of the Syrian government forces in Homs, killing an officer and injuring two soldiers.
