AANES inaugurates Visual art forum in Syria’s Raqqa

RAQQA, Syria (North press) – On Wednesday, the Culture and Antiquities Committee, affiliated with the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), inaugurated the second forum for visual arts at the Cultural Center in the city of Raqqa, northern Syria.

More than 30 visual artists and sculptors from various regions of northern and eastern Syria participated in the forum, titled “Euphrates and Color” in its second edition.

Amal al-Attar, a visual artist and one of the participants in the forum, told North Press that the participating artists presented creative topics that reflect reality and embody the characters that lived in Raqqa and the surrounding areas. They also created artistic paintings that depict the heritage of some cities in the region.

Al-Attar expressed her hope that this forum will become a nationwide event in Syria in the coming days, noting that it will continue for ten days.

Meanwhile, the visual artist Muhammad Ayyash told North Press that he participated in this forum to enhance the taste of the audience throughout northeastern Syria and he is presenting a rural painting representing the heritage of Raqqa and the Euphrates culture.

Ayyash added that the artists participate in the forum to showcase their artistic abilities and depict the history of the current phase experienced by the residents of northern and eastern Syria. He emphasized that each artist has their own unique style and approach to painting and sculpting.

He explained that today they are presenting oil paintings and sculpted models to the audience, with the aim of raising the level of visual arts throughout the region.
