1 killed, 3 injured in truck bomb in Syria’s Azaz

AZAZ, Syria (North press) – On Monday, a militant of the Turkish-backed Military Police was killed and three others were injured in an IED blast planted with a truck. The explosion took place at a checkpoint near the city of Azaz, northwestern Syria.

An official from the Military Police informed North Press that a truck transporting clothes, with an IED planted inside, exploded with a Military Police checkpoint located at the western entrance of Azaz.

He added that the explosion resulted in the killing of a Military Police member and the injury of three others, who were transferred to a hospital in Azaz.

Areas under the control of Turkish-backed factions are marred by security chaos with assassinations, infightings, and explosions taking place on a daily basis.

The Sultan Murad faction, affiliated with the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA), had stopped the vehicle and conducted a search at a previous checkpoint, the source said, citing the injured truck driver who is currently in Azaz Hospital.
