RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – Four soldiers of the Syrian government forces were killed and five other people, including civilians, were injured on Sunday in an attack by the Islamic State (ISIS) on an outpost in the al-Buhumaid desert in the eastern countryside of Raqqa, northern Syria.
The Syrian Desert, spanning parts of Homs Governorate in central Syria, as well as Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor governorates in eastern Syria, experiences periodic attacks by ISIS on positions of government forces and Iran-backed militias.
Local media outlets reported that militants affiliated with ISIS carried out an attack on government forces in the al-Buhumaid desert in the eastern countryside of Raqqa.
The circulated information says that the attack resulted in the killing of four soldiers and the injury of five others, including two civilians.
