Drone strikes hit IRGC headquarters in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Unknown drones targeted on Saturday two headquarters of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Corps (IRGC) in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.

A military source of the IRGC said that the drones targeted a military headquarters in al-Mazare’ area in the town of al-Mayadin in Deir ez-Zor eastern countryside, burning two freight cars that have arrived a few hours earlier.

No obtained information about the contents of the freight cars.

The source added that drone strikes also targeted another headquarters of the IRGC in al-Haydariya area, south of al-Mayadin, causing material damage.

The IRGC evacuated all headquarters in al-Mayadin and deployed among civilians’ houses out of fear of more airstrikes, according to the source.

The Iranian-backed militias and the Syrian government forces control large areas of the Syrian Desert and parts of Deir ez-Zor countryside.
