Unknown attackers kill 5 government soldiers in Syria’s Daraa
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Five soldiers of the government forces were killed on Tuesday in two separate incidents in the countryside of Daraa, southern Syria.
A military source told North Press that unknown gunmen targeted a military vehicle of the State Security branch of the Syrian government forces with an IED on the road between the city of Jassem and the town of Inkhil in the northern countryside of Daraa.
The source added that Ahmad al-Fandi, Hussein al-Ahmad, Mahmoud Mazlul, and Basel Salama were killed, while Ismael Youssef and Maher Ahmad were injured.
In another incident, unidentified gunmen targeted a military vehicle of the government forces with an IED at the intersection near the village of Nasriyah in the northwest of Daraa.
The vehicle was patrolling military checkpoints in the area when the attack occurred. It resulted in the killing of a soldier by the name of Malik Fayez and the injury of another by the name Youssef al-Shayeb, according to a military source there.
