3 Iranian militants killed in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Three militants of an Iranian-backed militia were killed on Sunday morning as a result of a rocket that hit their vehicle in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.

A military source of Iran’s Liwa Zainebiyoun said that unknown gunmen targeted a vehicle of the Liwa with a rocket shell. The vehicle was on a mission to distribute food for military posts on the outskirts of Abu Kamal, a town in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

The attack resulted in the killing of three militants who were inside the vehicle, the source added.

Following the attack, the assailants fled. No party, however, has claimed its responsibility for the attack, according to the source.

On Saturday, unknown gunmen shelled one of the Liwa Zainebiyoun headquarters in the town of Abu Kamal without recording any casualties.
