Man killed by Turkish border guards in Syria’s Sere Kaniye

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – A man was killed and another person was injured on Wednesday by Turkish border guards while attempting to cross into Turkey from the countryside of the city of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), northeastern Syria.

A source from the Turkish-backed Military Police of the Syrian National Army (SNA) in Sere Kaniye told North Press that the Turkish border guards opened fire on six individuals as they were crossing the Turkish-Syrian border from the town of Mabrouka, west of Sere Kaniye, at around 5:00 pm.

The source added that the targeting resulted in the killing of Ramaz Atallah and the injury of another person in his leg.

The source noted that the Military Police, based on reports from locals, headed to the scene and retrieved the deceased and the injured. They subsequently transported them to a hospital.
