1killed, others injured in IED blast in Syria’s Raqqa
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, a person was killed and two others were injured due to an explosion of an IED in the town of Suluk, in northern Raqqa Governorate, northern Syria.
The town of Suluk has been under the control of Turkish forces and their affiliated factions of the Syrian National Army (SNA) since October 2019, when they invaded the Sere Kaniye and Tel Abyad regions.
An official in the Police Department of Suluk told North Press that an IED blew up near a shop in the Mobile Souk Street in Suluk, resulting in the death of one person and the injury of two others.
He added that they were transported to Suluk Hospital by local residents.
The source indicated that the IED was planted by unknown individuals, which is a common occurrence now amid the security chaos caused by the repeated intra-SNA clashes in the region.
