Turkey sends bodies of SNA militants killed in Libya to Syria’s Raqqa
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Turkish authorities sent on Saturday four bodies of militants of the Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), who were sent to fight in Libya, to the Syrian city of Tel Abyad, north of Raqqa, north Syria.
An administrator in the Military Police, affiliated with the SNA, stated that Turkish forces transported four bodies belonging to militants of the Turkish-backed Sham Legion across Tel Abyad border crossing. The bodies were scheduled to be buried later in the afternoon.
On Nov.21, the Turkish authorities also sent five bodies of militants of the SNA, who were sent to fight in Libya.
Previously, a military commander in the Sultan Muhammad al-Fateh Division told North Press that the dead militants who were delivered from Libya in 2023 were not killed in current battles. They were killed in Libya and their numbers and data had been concealed, to be delivered in batches in order to avoid popular anger against the Turkish army.
In 2019, Turkey recruited hundreds of SNA militants to fight in Libya in return for monthly salaries.
