DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Three Syrian soldiers were killed and two fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) were wounded on Wednesday in two separate attacks in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
A military source within the SDF told North Press an IED was detonated in an SDF vehicle on the main road in the village of al-Hissan in the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
The explosion led to the injury of two SDF fighters that were inside the vehicle. Later, the SDF cordoned off the area, the source added.
The SDF, however, is yet to comment on the incident.
Meanwhile in the western bank of the Euphrates River, a military source in the Syrian government forces said that unidentified gunmen attacked a post of the Division 17 affiliated with government forces in the Bishri desert in the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
The attack resulted in the killing of three Syrian soldiers whereas the attackers managed to escape, according to the source.
