Unknown people target SDF posts in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Unknown people targeted on Wednesday at night headquarters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Deir ez-Zor Governorate, east Syria.

A military source of the SDF in Deir ez-Zor told North Press that unknown people targeted a checkpoint and a headquarters in the town of al-Suwar, north of Deir ez-Zor. As a result, intermittent clashes broke out between the two parties.

The assailants withdraw after running out of ammunition, the source added.

The SDF are subjected to attacks by the Islamic State (ISIS) and armed groups affiliated with the Syrian regime and Iran.

In the town of al-Jarzi, east of Deir ez-Zor, unknown people targeted an SDF headquarters on the main route of the town with machineguns, according to the source.

Unknown gunmen targeted an SDF military post near the Euphrates River in the town of Shuhail, east of Deir ez-Zor, with RPGs, according to the source.
