SNA faction seizes fuel tankers in Syria’s Suluk

TEL ABYAD, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, a faction of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) in the town of Suluk, south of the city of Tel Abyad, northern Syria, seized seven tankers loaded with oil derivatives intended for residents.

Incidents of robberies and looting of materials intended for residents are frequent in areas controlled by Turkish forces and their affiliated SNA factions in northern Syria. In addition, residents are subjected to attacks and arrests from time to time, according to many human rights reports.

An administrator in the Suluk Local Council told North Press that the SNA faction of “Sultan Murad Division seized tankers carrying 800 barrels of diesel and gasoline that were meant to supply the Tel Abyad and Suluk stations. This comes in light of the fuel crisis that the region has been suffering from for the past two weeks.”

He added that two groups from the Sultan Murad Division raided the fuel market in Suluk. During the raid, they seized seven trucks and arrested their drivers. The seized oil derivatives were then transferred to tankers owned by the division, which are stationed on the outskirts of the town.
