US military base in northeast Syria struck with 4 missiles
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – A military base of the US-led Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS in Hasakah Governorate in northeast Syria was struck with missiles on Friday evening.
North Press correspondent said citing locals that four missiles struck the Kharab al-Jir base near the oil-rich town of Rmelan, located in the countryside of Qamishli.
The source of the attack was not known, and there is still no information about casualties or damages, according to the correspondent.
However, similar attacks that had previously targeted the US bases in different areas in northeast Syria were claimed by the so-called Islamic Resistance in Iraq.
In the same context, US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, said the US “has and we will continue to respond to attacks by Iran’s proxies to defend our personnel in the region, personnel who are here in Iraq and in Syria to help prevent the resurgence of ISIS.”
