SNA faction seizes aid trucks meant for IDPs in Syria’s Afrin

AFRIN, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, a faction of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) seized four trucks loaded with aid intended for families in an IDP camp on the outskirts of the town of Jindires, in the countryside of Afrin, northwestern Syria.

An administrator in the local council of Jindires, affiliated with Turkey, told North Press that the Sultan Suleiman Shah faction (al-Amshat) seized four trucks that were provided by humanitarian organizations before reaching the camp.

The faction transported the trucks to one of its warehouses in the town of Sheikh Hadid, in the western countryside of Afrin, without specifying the reasons for their actions to the relevant authorities, the source added.

He further stated that the aid was originally intended to be distributed for 170 families as part of a project aimed at supporting IDPs.

On Oct. 22, a Turkish-backed faction seized three trucks loaded with materials intended for 300 IDP families in the city of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) and its surrounding areas, in northern Hasakah, northeastern Syria.

The source pointed out that the seized trucks contained winter tents, coal stoves, and bags of coal, which were the first batch in months.
