AANES launches 7th edition of Herkol Book Fair in Syria’s Qamishli
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Culture Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) has launched the seventh edition of Martyr Herkol Book Fair on Saturday in the city of Qamishli, northeastern Syria.
The preparatory committee of the Book Fair said that sixty publishing houses participated the event with more than 140,000 books, bearing 14,000 titles.
For the first time, publishing houses from the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Kuwait, Belgium, Italy, and Lebanon have participated in the Book Fair.
The fair, which is held at Zana Hall in the city of Qamishli under the theme ‘Reading is Light’, will span for four days, according to the preparatory committee.
