Unknown people target SDF checkpoint in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Unknown assailants targeted on Wednesday a checkpoint of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in a town east of Deir ez-Zor Governorate, east Syria, injuring two SDF fighters.
A resident of the town of Hawaij in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor told North Press that unknown assailants, riding a motorcycle, roamed the town carrying AK-47 before targeting the SDF checkpoint on the vicinity of the town.
Attacks by unknown individuals have been intensified on checkpoints and posts of the SDF in Deir ez-Zor, amid intensified activities of Islamic State (ISIS) and gunmen affiliated with the Syrian Government and Iranian militia entering areas east of Euphrates.
Clashes broke out between the two parties, injuring two SDF fighters and causing material damage, according to the source.
On Oct. 24, unknown assailants targeted several headquarters of the SDF in Deir ez-Zor with machineguns.
