Rocket attack targets IRGC militants on Syrian-Iraqi border

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – One militant and an officer of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), were killed on Tuesday and three others were wounded in a rocket attack on one of their convoys near the Syrian-Iraqi border.

A military source within the IRGC stated that unknown gunmen targeted a convoy of the IRGC with rockets near one of its headquarters on the Syrian-Iraqi border.

Recently, unidentified gunmen have targeted Iranian-backed militias on the Syrian-Iraqi border, in tandem with frequent attacks on these militias by unknown aircrafts.

The source told North Press, the attack resulted in the killing of two militants, including the Iraqi leader Hussein Jafar, and the injury of three others.

Following the attack, the IRGC surrounded the scene of the attack and arrested shepherds who were present near the scene.
