Russian airstrikes kill, injure 12 civilians in Syria’s Idlib

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Russian warplanes targeted on Tuesday an IDP camp near the city of Jisr al-Shughur, in the western countryside of Idlib Governorate, northwestern Syria, killing and injuring 12 individuals, including children and women.

“Russian warplanes launched several airstrikes at around 12:30 pm, targeting the Saraqib camp near the village of al-Hamama, north of Jisr al-Shughur,” a medical source at al-Qiniya Hospital, 14 km north of Jisr al-Shughur, told North Press.

The source added that the airstrikes resulted in the killing of five individuals, including two children, and the injury of seven others, some of whom sustained severe wounds.

On Monday, Vadim Kulit, the Deputy Head of the Russian Reconciliation Center in the Khmeimim airbase in Syria, stated that a Syrian soldier was shot and killed after  “terrorists” stationed near the village of Barza Tahtani opened fire on government forces’ posts in the village of Nahshabba in Latakia, western Syria.

Russian airstrikes also targeted the outskirts of the village of Ein Shib, around 10 km west of the city of Idlib.
