Unknown assailants target SDF headquarters in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Unknown assailants targeted on Tuesday several headquarters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Deir ez-Zor Governorate, east Syria, with machineguns.
A military source of the SDF in Deir ez-Zor said that unknown assailants targeted with machineguns an SDF headquarters in the village of al-Jerthi in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, resulting in clashes between the SDF fighters and the assailants, forcing the latter to escape.
Attacks by unknown individuals have been intensified on checkpoints and posts of the SDF in Deir ez-Zor, amid intensified activities of Islamic State (ISIS) and gunmen affiliated with the Syrian Government and Iranian militia entering areas east of Euphrates.
The attack came in tandem with other two attacks launched by unknown assailants on military headquarters of the SDF near the Euphrates Bank in the town of Hawaij, and in the town of Tatyana in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, according to the source.
No casualties were reported.
