Car explodes in Qamishli city in NE Syria

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – A car exploded on Sunday in the city center of Qamishli, northeastern Syria. The initial reports suggest casualties.

An eyewitness said “a vehicle exploded in the al-Kornish Street in the center of the city. Meanwhile the reason is still unknown.”

He added that firefighter teams rushed to the scene to extinguish the fire. Paramedics were seen pulling the victims from the car. The number of casualties is not confirmed yet.

The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) have not issued a statement about the incident yet, as they imposed a cordon around the scene of the explosion to investigate the causes.
