SNA seizes aid trucks intended for 300 families in Syria’s Sere Kaniye
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – The Hamza Division affiliated with the Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), seized on Sunday three aid trucks sent from a local NGO in Turkey to the city and countryside of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain)in northern Hasakah, northeast Syria.
According to an official from the local council of Sere Kaniye, affiliated with Turkey, the Hamza Division seized the trucks upon their entry through the border crossing. They transported them to one of their warehouses in the town of Suluk in the south of Tel Abyad.
The aid that was provided by a local organization was supposed to be distributed to 300 families in the city and countryside of Sere Kaniye as part of the “Winter Heating” project, the official said.
The price of a liter of diesel fuel designated for heating is 20 Turkish liras (70 cent) amid a fuel crisis in the region, according to the same source.
He also pointed out that the seized trucks contained tents for winter, coal stoves, and bags of coal. This was the first batch in months.
Sere Kaniye and Tel Abyad has been under the occupation of the Turkish forces and SNA factions, since 2019 following the so-called “Peace Spring” military operation that aimed to push away the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) under the pretext of protecting the Turkish national security.
