DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Residents of a town in eastern Homs, central Syria, found, on Saturday, bodies of National Defense Forces (NDF) members, affiliated with the Syrian government forces. These military individuals had been abducted by Islamic State (ISIS) during an attack on the town three days ago.
A military source of the NDF in the town of al-Sukhnah, eastern Homs Governorate, central Syria, said that residents found the four bodies of NDF members who were killed by gunshots near an abandoned house on the outskirts of al-Sukhnah.
On Oct. 18. ISIS targeted multiple posts and headquarters of the Syrian government forces in the town of al-Sukhnah, seizing control of more than eight points belonging to the government forces, capturing a number of military personnel, and confiscating weapons and government vehicles.
The source told North Press that the bodies belong to members who were abducted by ISIS militants three days ago when they attacked joint posts of the NDF and the government forces in al-Sukhnah.
The attack resulted in seven military casualties, including three soldiers of the government forces. Eight other individuals are reported missing.
