SDF dismantles booby-trapped motorcycle in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ,ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Hajin Military Council of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Sunday that its forces had successfully dismantled a booby-trapped motorcycle prepared for detonation in a town in eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside, east Syria.
In a statement posted on Facebook, the Hajin Military Council said, “Our engineering teams have dismantled an explosive-laden motorcycle that was rigged with a remote-controlled device. Unidentified armed individuals affiliated with terrorist groups had parked it near schools and military institutions area in the town of Abu Hamam in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.”
The Council further explained that the plan behind the explosion was to target school students and create chaos in those areas in order to fuel tensions between the local residents and the military forces.
The statement affirmed the council’s commitment to thwart any plot that seeks to disrupt and sabotage the regions in northern and eastern Syria, and their determination to take firm action against anyone who jeopardizes the security and stability of the area.
