Turkey deports 850 Syrian refugees in 24 hours to north Syria

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – Turkish authorities deported 850 Syrian refugees in the past 24 hours through Bab al-Salama, Tel Abyad, and Bab al-Hawa border crossings in northern Syria.

Officials in the administrations of the three border crossings told North Press that Turkish authorities deported more than 850 Syrian refugees, including women and children. They handed them over to the Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA).

The sources added that around 190 individuals were handed over by the Turkish side to SNA factions in Tel Abyad border crossing in northern Raqqa where they were taken to centers for investigation.

Around 300 people, the majority women and children, were handed over to the Military Police of the SNA in Bab al-Salama border crossing in northern Aleppo. Then, they were taken to centers for investigation, the sources noted.

Meanwhile, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, formerly al-Nusra Front) received 360 people, including women and children, through the Bab al-Hawa border crossing, the sources said.

On Oct. 12, Turkish authorities deported 112 Syrian refugees, including women and children, and 12 Iraqis to northern Syria through the Tel Abayd border crossing.
