SNA faction arrests two men in Afrin upon deportation from Turkey

AFRIN, Syria (North Press) – The Turkish-backed Sultan Suleiman Shah faction (al-Amshat) of the Syrian National Army (SNA), arrested on Friday two young men from Sheikh Hadid town in the countryside of Afrin, northwestern Syria, 48 hours after their arrival to the area following their deportation from Turkey.

The Turkish authorities continue to deport Syrian refugees to northwestern and northern Syria, where Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), and SNA factions are in control.

An administrative source in the security forces of al-Amshat said that the security forces arrested two young men, the first one is 25 and the other is 29, in the village of Khazafiyah, west of Sheikh Hadid town.

The source said that the faction’s leadership had recently issued strict directives to the security forces in Sheikh Hadid, instructing them to arrest any young man who returns to the region and is a native of the area, regardless of whether they come from Turkey or other regions.
